With a deadline of that evening watch as I paint 'Butterfly on the Roof' from start to finish. Acrylic on canvas, 40 x 80cm (15" x 30").
This is a personal, life observation intended to be humorous. Please don't give me tips on how to be more expressive and, no, I don't actually wish I was more insecure. I'm also learning some new editing software - hence the lack of my usual titles.
It's taken a long time to resurrect this animation, first created in 1995 on an Amiga 600HD computer using Deluxe Paint IV and Moviesetter software. I show you some of my original drawings, explain how it was made and then show you the final animation.
With my exhibition all hung I give you a sneak peak before the exhibition opens in two days time. This is the final episode of my S.A.L.A. Exhibition journals.
Back in the mid 1990's I used to be a half decent skater (not good enough to turn pro but good enough to impress the grommets). It's been close to ten years since I skated with any serious regularity. This video is my first time on a ramp since 1998.
Watch as I created the artwork 'Tangled Toys' featuring a cat, dog, ball and a toy mouse. Includes my narration about what inspired the work and other information.
Part 2 of my painting 'Three Cats Fishing', acrylic on canvas, each panel measures 30 x 40cm. In this episode I show updates from the base coat to the finished artwork.
This is the first of a series of Video Diaries I'll be filming which focus on the creation of various artworks. In this episode I begin a new cat artwork and talk you through my process of transferring a sketch to canvas - in real time.

Occasionally I model for my own photographs. In this photo shoot my goal was to create some generic technology style images for use on one of my web sites. One of the photos taken will be used alongside an article I'm writing about Mobile Computing.
Just before Christmas 2008 I tried painting a more real looking cat. This video is the result. Unfortunately the video isn't up to my usual standard. However I've uploaded it anyway otherwise I'd forget and you'd miss me painting in this different style. For those of you that care to read more, I've had lots of technical difficulties with my three main editing programs (including Windows Movie Maker) no longer working as they should and becoming unusable. I used some different editing software that is really awful but at least it works. Hence the bad audio, awkward editing and not being able to show a sped up version of me painting the artwork in full (as I usually would). However if I waited until I sorted all this out I'd never finish this video and you would've missed it. So here it is... with all its flaws.
It's been a couple of weeks since my last video so I thought I'd show you I was still around and give you a preview of my latest artwork to date.
I'm not known for my wacky fun videos but I just wanted to show I can loosen up and be just a bit silly too. Dedicated to those of you that want me to be more expressive.
An introduction to my occasional video series where I talk about the business of being a professional artist based on my own experiences. Each video will be filled with tips, hints and advice that may help in your professional arts business.
Artists need to find a way to earn their 'bread and butter' money. This is what bread and butter art is. In part 1 I define Bread and Butter art. In part 2 I give you tips on how to create your own bread and butter income using my art as an example.
In the days leading up to the 2008 US elections President Bush tries desperately to reduce casualties in the Iraq war with a radical plan. Made with Goanimate see more of my work at: etourist on GoAnimate http://goanimate.com/go/user/0UIiBVzbsOE4 ----- This animation is the complete 5 part series I created on GoAnimate's platform. The story, editing and a few props are mine, everything else you can use yourself to create your own animations.
A couple of short challenges where I draw with a pen as much of a drawing as I can in three minutes. The drawings aren't meant to be great, the point is having the confidence to draw and to not be afraid of showing the results.
You'll either understand the absurdity of this sketch or you'll miss the joke entirely. Another jab at minimalist and conceptual art by yours truly. No art was created in the production of this video ;)
Watch as I create the artwork 'Table Mouse' and listen to my narration whilst I work. Table Mouse is available to buy as prints from my web site shop.
In this episode I make a start on my first artwork and show you a sketch for another planned artwork.
This episode focuses entirely on painting the cat artwork that I started in Episode 1. The finished artwork is called 'Shakira the Siamese Cat', Acrylic on Canvas, 90 x 60cm. It's available to buy as a print from my web site.
