02: Jonathon Apple - TET's Studio Update 14 Oct 2009
Part 2 of my series to illustrate 'The Journey of Jonathon Apple' a children's book written by my sister. This episode I work on further character development of Jonathon as well as a few other characters.
I begin a new project to illustrate a children's book written by my sister titled, The Journey of Jonathon Apple. This episode I start on preliminary drawings for the title character.
A quick look at my latest artwork, part way complete and finished. Uploading this a little late due to my laptop computer crashing/dying. It's taken a while to get up and running again.
With my S.A.L.A. Exhibition journals complete I'm returning to periodic Studio Updates. In this video I show you my latest artwork called 'Cake - not for the Cat' and show you what I'll be painting next.
With my exhibition all hung I give you a sneak peak before the exhibition opens in two days time. This is the final episode of my S.A.L.A. Exhibition journals.
This episode I begin my final artwork, 'Elroy the Dragon', before taking all my artworks to the gallery to be hung. Didn't get a photo of this artwork finished so you'll have to make do with a bit of mobile phone footage of it in the gallery.
It's taken a long time to resurrect this animation, first created in 1995 on an Amiga 600HD computer using Deluxe Paint IV and Moviesetter software. I show you some of my original drawings, explain how it was made and then show you the final animation.
This episode I update you on two new smaller artworks that I intend to sell on ebay.
Time for a completely new painting based on a ten year old sketch. I finally named the painting 'Cool Froyd'.
Just a brief update this time on a new painting that I didn't film me painting because I wasn't intending to include it in the exhibition. However 'Neddy the Horse' came out better than expected so I thought I'd show it to you.
Watch as I complete two new artworks, 'Anarchy' and 'Bald Anarchy', based on two drawings I did back in 1994.
In this episode I finish the painting 'Grrr Dog's Ball' and contemplate what's next despite not really knowing what I plan to paint next.
This is a lot longer than usual but I hope you'll stick with it. I show you the finished painting from the last episode then start a new painting based on a drawing I did back in 1994.
This episode I show you my completed cat trip titch from the last episode. I also start a new painting. Unfortunately my camera battery died so it cuts off but you'll see the finished painting next episode.
This episode I start a new cat painting on the three canvases I showed you in the previous installment.
In this episode I talk about the pressures of filming yourself painting, show you the finished "There's Dust on my Guitar" and preview what I'm doing next.
This episode I do a little more work on my artwork "There's Dust on my Guitar" inspired by the Murmurs song "You Suck".
In this episode I make further progression on the artwork I started in episode 2 based on The Murmurs song 'You Suck'. The work illustrates the song lyric, 'There's dust on my guitar'.
This episode focuses entirely on painting the cat artwork that I started in Episode 1. The finished artwork is called 'Shakira the Siamese Cat', Acrylic on Canvas, 90 x 60cm. It's available to buy as a print from my web site.
Didn't get a whole lot done today and my camera battery was running low so this episode is a brief look at what I achieved. There's a better look at my cat artwork and I get started on my 'Murmurs' artwork.
