This is the first of a series of Video Diaries I'll be filming which focus on the creation of various artworks. In this episode I begin a new cat artwork and talk you through my process of transferring a sketch to canvas - in real time.
Although this vlog is quite long most of the interesting stuff happens in the first two and a half minutes. If you don't really want to know more about my new camera and its features feel free to tune out once I start going into details.
In this episode I continue working on and talking about the artwork I started on Aug 22 and tell you about where you can buy prints of my art including: Cafepress shop http://www.cafepress.com/etourist Red Bubble http://etourist.redbubble.com/
In the days leading up to the 2008 US elections President Bush tries desperately to reduce casualties in the Iraq war with a radical plan. Made with Goanimate see more of my work at: etourist on GoAnimate http://goanimate.com/go/user/0UIiBVzbsOE4 ----- This animation is the complete 5 part series I created on GoAnimate's platform. The story, editing and a few props are mine, everything else you can use yourself to create your own animations.
It's taken a long time to resurrect this animation, first created in 1995 on an Amiga 600HD computer using Deluxe Paint IV and Moviesetter software. I show you some of my original drawings, explain how it was made and then show you the final animation.
Thought I'd take a moment to show you my makeshift easel as well as my last painting of a Blue dragon. Then I make a start on my latest cat artwork. Video shot under close observation by a very big spider!
Just before Christmas 2008 I tried painting a more real looking cat. This video is the result. Unfortunately the video isn't up to my usual standard. However I've uploaded it anyway otherwise I'd forget and you'd miss me painting in this different style. For those of you that care to read more, I've had lots of technical difficulties with my three main editing programs (including Windows Movie Maker) no longer working as they should and becoming unusable. I used some different editing software that is really awful but at least it works. Hence the bad audio, awkward editing and not being able to show a sped up version of me painting the artwork in full (as I usually would). However if I waited until I sorted all this out I'd never finish this video and you would've missed it. So here it is... with all its flaws.
Artists need to find a way to earn their 'bread and butter' money. This is what bread and butter art is. In part 1 I define Bread and Butter art. In part 2 I give you tips on how to create your own bread and butter income using my art as an example.
Watch as I create the artwork 'Rolling Cat Jac' completely from scratch with no preliminary sketches. Artwork footage is sped up 25 times so you can see the whole process.
Watch as I create my latest painting, 'Mother and Kittens', from start to finish, explaining some of the process as I go along.
This is a lot longer than usual but I hope you'll stick with it. I show you the finished painting from the last episode then start a new painting based on a drawing I did back in 1994.
I have a solo exhibition of my art at a local gallery coming up in August 2009. At this point in time I have very little artwork ready to show. This new series of videos will document my progress up to the exhibition's opening. Will I be ready in time?
A couple of short challenges where I draw with a pen as much of a drawing as I can in three minutes. The drawings aren't meant to be great, the point is having the confidence to draw and to not be afraid of showing the results.
With a deadline of that evening watch as I paint 'Butterfly on the Roof' from start to finish. Acrylic on canvas, 40 x 80cm (15" x 30").

02: Jonathon Apple - TET's Studio Update 14 Oct 2009
Part 2 of my series to illustrate 'The Journey of Jonathon Apple' a children's book written by my sister. This episode I work on further character development of Jonathon as well as a few other characters.
Watch me as I talk about and create one of my 'Dangerous Career Cat' artworks called, 'The Mouse Catcher'. Although this video was recorded on September 12 and 13 I've only just had the time to edit it all together.
In this episode I make a start on my first artwork and show you a sketch for another planned artwork.
Watch as I created the artwork 'Tangled Toys' featuring a cat, dog, ball and a toy mouse. Includes my narration about what inspired the work and other information.
Watch as I complete two new artworks, 'Anarchy' and 'Bald Anarchy', based on two drawings I did back in 1994.
Time for a completely new painting based on a ten year old sketch. I finally named the painting 'Cool Froyd'.
