  • This is one of our favorite homes away from home. It is the only place we have returned to five times! It is also impossible to adequately record this amazing house in still photographs, and it proved very difficult to record the feeling of the house in video. So, here it is presented the second of two tours of the house. This second tour is more complete but lacks some warmth because it was obtained as we were leaving. Sandbridge Beach is 20 minutes and a world away from the commercialism of Virginia Beach. If you would like specific rental availability information on the Sand Dollar at Sandbridge Beach, visit Siebert Realty.

  • We arrive on the beach at Labadee. What a wonderful concept: Royal Caribbean simply purchased a beautiful peninsula. Exploring, building sand castles, the wave runners are intense all best experienced in person! As usual, there was too much to do in the short time we had on shore.

  • Royal Caribbean was very good about separating kid's pools and hot tubs from adult's pools and hot tubs. For the most part, we could go in the kid's section when we wanted to, because it was never that busy. Also presented in this slideshow is more details of the master bath of the Royal Suite on one of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines best ships, the Voyager of the Seas. Then, more exploration of the captivating architecture of the ship.

  • It's much better in person. We're all a bit pooped from the climb, and there's more walking ahead.

  • You can't get the sheer steep cliff effect on video. The massive tree roots growing horizontally are just not awe-inspiring no matter how HDTV you set is. The camera continues to fly over the gentle steps of water, until I can go no further.

  • For this long panoramic view of Venice, Italy from the water, the camera was set on the boat's hand rail, and the boat moved in a graceful arc. Fully zoomed in, aspects of Venice are revealed that would not be visible to the naked eye. This is the best segment of water views of Venice. Our Perillo Tours Familia enjoyed sitting for a bit, absorbing all we had seen in St. Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace of Venice, Italy. Then, the black and white lighthouse of the Murano Glass factory greet us. www.perillotours.com http://jpmeyer.com

  • Venice, Italy travel: our Perillo Tours Familia Gondola ride. Our group assembling in the Hotel Europa and Regina, the nicest hotel we had on our Perillo tour of Italy. Of course, when in Venice, one must take a gondola ride. This was a bit expensive, but there was a complimentary bottle of wine, a powerful tenor belting out stereotypical favorites, and countless photo ops. www.perillotours.com http://jpmeyer.com

  • Leaving Venice may have been one of the most difficult things our Perillo Tours Familia had to do on this trip. In that spirit, here is another edit of our departure. In this segment, the camera captures the Grand Canal and some of the beautiful smaller canals of Venice, for a wonderful eight minute mini tour of the city. www.perillotours.com http://jpmeyer.com

  • Italy travel: On our way to Pisa! Florence Ponte Vecchio. We had more time later for exploration. This footage is our Perillo Tours Familia walk back to our hotel, and some footage from the bus. First, a river rower contemplating the minor waterfall of the Arno River. (Interestingly enough, Pisa also lies on the Arno River, despite the 90 minute drive between the two cities!) Then some hillside villages on the way to Pisa. We passed a true Roman water aqueduct, which would certainly have been worth a stop. We're on our way to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa! • Well, that was quick! Our Perillo Tours Familia spent more time traveling to and from the Leaning Tower of Pisa than we did visiting the Tower. We would not have missed it, but again, it would have been nice to have the time to climb to the top. At the end of this segment, you can see more of the mile after mile of nurseries on the side of the road as we drive back to Florence. • Galapagos Islands, Santa Cruz, Galapagos tomato patch, poison apple tree, and flower of a nut. These tomatoes only grow on the Galapagos. Klaus said it took the foremost "tomato-ologist" a long time to figure out how to germinate the seeds. Here's a riddle for you: We all took some seeds home with us, but without violating any of the strict import/export rules. Did anyone try to germinate the seeds? As Sherlock Holmes would say, "It's alimentary, my dear Watson." jpmeyer.com

  • Italy travel: Pompeii. Our Perillo Tours Familia sees the Temple of Vespasian, beginning with an arch which had such tremendous detail that it was covered in plexiglass for preservation. The video shows that dogs were welcome in Pompeii! The side of the altar facing the forum has a relief carving representing a sacrificial scene. The offering in this scene is a bull, indicating that the sacrifice was for a living emperor.
