This was the first After Effects project we had to do. We had to redisign and make a title sequence from an existing film using methods we had learned the week before and come out with the final rendation and back-up work/ designs within two weeks. I decided to redesign the original 'The Hills Have Eyes' title sequence, as i had watched it for the first time a few nights before. Again i didn't want to look for hours on the net for the right music i wanted, so i wrote and recorded it myself on GarageBand. I haven't had my marks back for it yet, and i may do some alterations and upload it again soon. But for now, i hope you enjoy... ÃÂÃÂÃÂé2007 Krystian Morgan
This is the first project from year two of my course Digital Video Design (now named Interactive and Motion Design). The brief was to create a fully interactive DVD menu for a film of our choice and try best to convey the atmosphere, content and overall pace of the film. I've probably worked harder on this project for some more subtle aspects, than i have for any other project i've done so far. I think i've come a long way since the 'Persistence of Memory' project for example. Obviously the version sumbitted was a DVD disc with full interactivity, so for the version you see here is alot shorter and without the ability to select buttons. This is the first film project of my three year digital video design course at GCADT. The project was called 'Painting in film' and basically we had to create a movie using final cut pro depicting a painting of our choice. I chose 'The Persistence Of Memory' by Salvador Dali. ÃÂÃÂÃÂé2006 Krystian Morgan I decided to base the film on how the painting came to be made, i read that he apparently took drugs with the purpose of painting his hallucinations afterwards. Aswell as filming an editing, i also wrote and recorded the music for it myself too. Hope you enjoy...
This is my final project for year one Digital Video Design. I decided to do a short advert for Reservoir Dogs showing on channel Five. This is the first time i have used real 3D in After Effects for a project, and it also the first rotoscoping i have ever done, (cutting Steve Buscemi from the background). I originally had more ides on which to incorporate into it but ran out of time towards the end due to how long the rotoscoping took. Hope you like... ©2007 Krystian Morgan, music and footage copyright of their owners).
Basically we had three options to choose from to do this project. 1. An Abstract Clip 2. A TV Channel Ident 3. A sound Sync piece. I decided to do a TV Channel Ident. Bravo was the channel that i decided to do the ident of (Might be unfamiliar as it's a UK channel), we were allowed to use whatever software we wanted to create it, as long as we use the newly learned Maya As well. The only Maya aspect of my movie is the moving pink-ish background, which was a bunch of polygon balls intermingling in an animation. Apart from that i used After Effects for the rest. Unfortunately i didn't have time for me to record the audio for this project as i did it all in a day, i found the audio in the jingles sounds you get free with a new mac, i think it sounds ok though. At this time uploading, it's not the project's deadline yet, but decided to put it up anyway since i finished it early. Hope you like... The project brief was to represent a book within visual media (conveying mood, atmosphere etc...) I chose to do 'Jaws' by Peter Benchley as 'Jaws' is my all-time favourite film and i have also read the book. The book already has a huge association with visual media as most people already know it best as Steven Speilbergs film. I wanted to strip the film out of mind and create a semi-abstract and confined short based on the chapters where Hooper goes into the water with the shark cage. The finished product is only partially what i concieved, and wasn't able to complete it as was flooded with contextual work at the time which sacrificed the time i could spend on it. I love the design, and hope to revisit this later this year and complete it. But for now, here's what i submitted.
Little motion graphics video. Made up as i went along, also improvised and recorded the music myself too. Hope you like...
The brief was to create a 30 second commercial to celebrate Belu water. Belu are the first UK bottled water company that uses corn to make their bottles, which make them very environmentally friendly, and that is the spin i based the ad on. I decided to take a more animation look with narrative to clearly state some of Belu's key selling points. It was very tedious and grueling to create (when thinking of all the drwaing and photoshop work, but i am happy with it.
