Death knocked at the back door on day two for the 2009 Desert Assassins Rip to the Tip presented by Monster Energy and Lucas Oil but no one was listening. From doing beach wheelies for 50 miles to climbing gnarly rock trails in 100 degree heat the 2nd day of this dirt bike trip offered a lot of mental and physical tests. Who would have thought 150 miles of riding could crush and crash the hopes of so many of the 20 desperados battling the length of the Baja Peninsula. Follow Cameron Steele, OX, Larry Badgwell, Johnny Campbell and this group of brothers as they battle trough their Baja adventure far from the known courses of the SCORE Baja 1000. Can anybody say Bill Nichol Rock Trail?

Sun Diego’s Spring Break Yo'Self III went down in the books this past Saturday, and it was easily the best one yet. I know we always say that, but look at the Top 10 names and you’ll see what I’m talking about. The skating during the final jam was the best I’ve ever seen out of any contest. So many tricks were being landed back to back to back, I have no idea how the judges kept up. Jereme Rogers, Tommy Sandoval, Shuriken Shannon, and Adam Dyet basically all tied for 2nd place in my book. They all crushed it with uncanny consistency, making every trick look too easy. But there was no doubt in anybody’s mind who the clear winner of the day would be. Clairemont’s own Brandon Turner came with the most tricks, the most diversity, and the most fire. He was there to win it and he didn’t let up until he annihilated every rail, hubba, and bank that Big Bertha had to offer. Congrats go out to Brandon on a well-deserved 1st place finish.
