Young Tim Cornish's life has begun with great promise. Blessed with extraordinary good looks, Tim enjoyed much attention and cared little of broken hearts. At University he was a favored student in a prestigious creative writing course, but a chance meeting, a stolen kiss and a sudden flare of passion sets Tim on a journey of betrayal, heartbreak and murder. In a flashback, he tells his story of cruelty, love and a soul-destroying guilt that offers little chance for redemption.

Excellent examination of prejudism about a gay schoolteacher who applies to adopt a child, and the difficulties he faces at the adoption agency. In 1999, this short film was awarded Outstanding Narrative Short Film at the L.A. Outfest. and deservedly so. This is a poignant, affecting, and honest piece of work with a serious moral and a perfect denouement.

So often films such as this fall under the title 'Queer Cinema' and that is as unfair to the audience as it is to the writer and director of the film. This film is meant for the general public and should it receive higher profile in publicity, many longstanding prejudices would at least have the chance to be questioned by both gays and straights.

The story is based on the actual July 4, 1999, murder of Barry Winshell (Troy Garrity), a soldier in the 101st Airborne Division. Winshell was brutally killed by a fellow GI who was disturbed by Winshell's loving relationship with a transsexual singer he met at a Nashville, Tenn., nightclub.
