  • Our animal enrichment program is always looking for new and safe ways to keep our cats entertained. Senior keeper Barbara came up with an idea of wrapping cow tails up in paper so that the tigers had to work for their treats. Watch as the tigers get cow tails for the first time. This pod cast also includes some tiger facts as well. With around 5,000 of these animal left in the wild, we need to take action right now for their survival. Human over population and illegal trade in their body parts have led them to the brink of extinction. We simply need to support programs that save their habitat around the globe. For more info on how you can save these beautiful animals log on to: www.bigcatrescue.org

  • BCR loves to help out and support wild feline conservation. We were recently asked to participate in a project that collected fecals from captive snow leopards, in order to be used to train dogs to identify the smell. These dogs will then be used out in snow leopard habitat to better help the researchers. Helping out the snow leopard is important as lets face it, the leopard doesn’t have the fact that people can ride up to it sleeping on the plains on a jeep and grow fascinated by it like the lion. It lives in rugged areas that see very little tourism. For more info on this great project check out: www.snowleopard.org and also: www.workingdogsforconservation. Thanks for watching and be sure to check out our other cat videos. www.bigcatrescue.org

  • Every saturday morning at 9 AM we provide a special kid's tour for any children under the age of 10 years. This is a great experience for the kid's as they come face to face with tigers, lions, leopards, cougars, bobcats, lynx and more! The tour lasts for about an hour and they get to learn about the cat's individual histories, as well as the species in general. The tours provide a different experience to visiting a zoo as you are only a few feet away from the cats! So you get to hear the tigers "chuff", lions ROAR! and the cougars squeak! If you would like to find out more information please visit our website: http://www.bigcatrescue.org

  • Imagine...It's the night of a full moon and you are groping through the underbrush in the wilds of a Florida forest when you hear the roar of lions and tigers so close you can almost feel their hot breath! Armed with only a flashlight you continue on at the urging of your guide and notice that you are the main attraction to all the wild animals living at Big Cat Rescue. You see hundreds of glowing eyes, all focused on you and as you pass the enclosures you hear the rushing of the great cats as they make a pounce for you in the dark. You'll hear the roaring of tigers, the screaming of cougars and the caterwauling of bobcats, lynx and more as you try to get back to the safety of your car. It's an adrenaline rush to turn the tables and become the hunted rather than the hunter. It's an experience you will remember and talk about for years to come. Previously this tour was only offered to expedition guests, but due to popular demand, we decided to offer this exciting tour on the last Friday of each ...
