  • The New Adventures of Batman is an animated series produced by Filmation in 1977 featuring the DC Comics superheroes Batman and Robin, and Batgirl. In The New Adventures of Batman, The Dynamic Duo fights crime in Gotham City, encountering the classic Batman rogues gallery as well as some original villains. Complicating matters is Bat-Mite, a well meaning imp from another dimension called Ergo, who considers himself Batman's biggest fan. As a result, he wears a variant of Batman's costume and attempts to help him, only to often create more problems (although he is occasionally an asset). Missing is Alfred, the faithful butler of Batman's alter ego Bruce Wayne; also notable in this series are the inverted colors of the "R" on Robin's costume.

  • C.O.P.S. (Central Organization of Police Specialists) is an animated series released by DiC Entertainment (distributed by Claster Television Inc.) and Celebrity Home Entertainment (some VHS tapes went through Golden Book Video, though). This cartoon, which ran from 1988--1989, used the tag line: "Fighting crime in a future time, protecting Empire City from Big Boss and his gang of crooks." Each character in the series is totally different in appearance from both the toys and the comic series.

  • The Adventures of Batman was an animated series produced by Lou Schiemer's Filmation studios in 1967-68. Over the top characters and catchy dramatic music cues gave this version of Batman a realistic -by cartoon standards of the day, anyway- look and feel. The colors were vibrant and exciting even if the animation was a little stiff and repetitive in places. Olan Soule was the voice of Batman and is most likely best remembered for his work on that show, and many others in the Filmation stable. Casey Kasem, the popular radio countdown man in the eighties, was the voice of Robin the Boy Wonder. The shows were 12 minutes in length, sometimes broken up by and surrounding another cartoon from Filmation's fast growing stream of superhero stars.

  • Bionic Six was an animated television series from the 1980s produced by TMS Entertainment and distributed by Studios USA and MCA Television (later renamed NBC/Universal Television). The main character, 'Bionic-1', was a machine-enhanced human being using bionic technology, much like The Six Million Dollar Man. On a vacation in the Himalayas, Bionic-1 and his family were testing out some new ski equipment. They were attacked by aliens and during the battle, in which Jack revealed his abilities to his children for the first time, there was an avalanche and the Bennetts were all buried alive under radioactive snow. All, but Jack (whose bionics made him immune to the radioactivity), were thrown into paralytic comas. Unsure how to save them, Bionic-1 brings the family to Professor Sharp's lab. Sharp deduces that giving everyone the bionic treatment would cure them of the radioactivity too. Each family member was given a specific bionic power, and they formed a team named Bionic Six.

  • Batman: The Animated Series (often shortened Batman: TAS or BTAS) is an American, two time Emmy Award winning animated series adaptation of the comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero, Batman. The visual style of the series is based on the artwork of producer Bruce Timm. The original episodes, produced by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, were first aired on the Fox Network from 1992 to 1995. When the first season of the series aired on weekday afternoons, it lacked an on-screen title in the opening credits and was known only as Batman (and would be referred to as such in episode recaps that summarised what had happened "previously on Batman..."), although it was retroactively officially titled Batman: The Animated Series.
