Mime Troupe zings in another 4th of July in Dolores Park
Independence is celebrated by few so vigorously as the San Francisco Mime Troupe, whose unapologetic pro-labor views shine through their latest play "Red State." The troupe dissects the view that spending tax dollars domestically is somehow socialist.

Some folks say it's the city's best street fair. It sure made a good case for top billing on its 22nd opening day--Saturday, July 5. The fair stretched from Eddy to Sacramento, an astonishing length for tunes, food, sun and fun.

No debate this year over whether to close Haight St. for the Street Fair. Booze, raucousness and clean-up issues resulted in packed hearing rooms for the past 2 years, but no protesters attended this year's hearing to approve a second straight "dry" fair..

Bettye Lavette sang her lungs out to open for Booker T, and Nancy Pelosi was on hand, as the 71st Stern Grove season began.
While not in top form, Loquat nonetheless highlighted its upcoming album thoroughly, revealing some gems at Cafe du Nord. Lovelikefire opened for Loquat (there was a band at the very beginning, Union Trade, but they sounded quite off) & showed talent.
The dynamic duo that is the Ferocious Few rocked the historic house at Fulton & Scott on Dec. 22. If you get a chance to see the Ferocious Few, do it. I hope the sound on this video is clean enough for you to hear the power vocals and strong melodies
