Isao Takahata's 1982 film "Gauche the Cellist", also known as "Goshu the Cellist", which is based on a story by Kenji Miyazawa, a Japanese author. Isao Takahata also made "Horus, Prince of the Sun", "Grave of the Fireflies", "Only Yesterday", "Pom Poko", and "My Neighbors the Yamadas".
This is my personal favorite scene from Only Yesterday, and it has my favorite line from any movie ever: "Rainy days, cloudy days, sunny days, which do you prefer?" "C..cloudy days." "Ah, then we're alike." The subtitles don't say that, but that's what they were supposed to say. Sign this petition, please: http://www.petitiononline.com/nx01a/petition.html It's for the English language version of this movie.
The 1978 British animated film "Watership Down" by Martin Rosen, produced by Goldcrest Studios. Starring Richard Briers as Fiver, Michael Graham Cox as Bigwig, John Hurt as Hazel, Harry Andrews as General Woundwort, and Hannah Gordon as Hyzenthlay. Famously features Art Garfunkel's song "Bright Eyes". Rated PG for blood and violence. I OWN NOTHING.
Isao Takahata's (Grave of the Fireflies, Only Yesterday) first feature length film, "Horus: Prince of the Sun". This film is considered a landmark in Japanese animation.
The ending theme from Steven Spielberg's "Schindler's List", made by John Williams. I've never seen this movie and probably never will, but I've heard a lot about it, and I think this song is really good.
This is a song listing the nations of the world, sung by Yakko Warner (of the Animaniacs). While not very catchy, it is certainly the only song I've heard that mentions nearly every country (this song was made years ago and several countries have formed since then). I DO NOT OWN ANY PART OF THIS.
The English dubbed version of the Studio Ghibli movie "Pom Poko", directed by Isao Takahata. I OWN NOTHING.
The theme to Cartoon Network's TV show "Justice League". This has got to be one of the best TV shows ever, under Samurai Jack and Hey Arnold, of course.
This is the theme song for Ponyo on a Cliff. About halfway through the video you'll hear people whispering. This is Toshio Suzuki adding a little commentary, unbeknownst to the singers. I don't know what he's saying. The lyrics to the song can be found on Google.
The entire speech, given by Dr. King on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on August 28th, 1963, during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. I have disabled comments from this video since certain people would undoubtedly use this video to voice their views which are opposite of Dr. King's (and my own).
"Prism", by Ayako Ikeda. The theme song for the Japanese TV show "Denno Coil" (Coil: A Circle of Children), which is about a future town that is starting to use new digital-reality technology. Most of the images in the theme song are not directly from the show, but all people in the theme song are also in the show.
Satoshi Kon's "Millennium Actress". Satoshi Kon also made "Perfect Blue", "Tokyo Godfathers", and "Paprika". Sorry for the quality; I have no idea what I'm doing.
The English dubbed-version of the 2001 adaption of Osamu Tezuka's manga "Metropolis". Featuring Brianne Siddall as Kenichi, Rebecca Forstadt as Tima, Jamieson K. Price as Duke Red, Tony Pope as Uncle Shunsaku, Michael Reisz as Rock, Simon Prescott as Dr. Laughton, and Dave Mallow as 803-D-RP-DM-497-3-C (Pero). Rated PG-13 for violence and images of destruction. I OWN NOTHING. Sorry if the quality is bad. Not much I can do about it.
