Good Shepherd College nerd, complete with eye-glasses and braces, Agastya Rao alias Champu, has a crush on Piya Goel, and is thrilled when she invites him to go to a dance, only to be heart-broken when he finds out that she really digs another guy. Years later, Agastya has graduated, re-located to the U.S. where he is an astronaut with NASA, and when he finds out that his college sweetheart is about to divorce her husband, decides to try his hand at wooing her. He gets the unsolicited help of one-time Bollywood wonder Suhaan Kapoor, who accompanies Agastya to New York, assists him in successfully wooing and proposing to Piya. On the night of their engagement, Agastya will find out that Suhaan only wanted to help him because of Section 25 of the Hindu Marriage Act - so that could relieve him of the financial burden of paying alimony to Piya, who was the girl he had secretly married much against the wishes of the entire Goel clan.
Three men, Aditya Shrivastav, Manav Shrivastav and Deshbandhu Roy are thrown out of their rented house after failing to pay rent for several months and find themselves homeless as they are not employed. They try to survive by stealing portraits but even this fails and they get caught and are soon joined by their friend, Boman Contractor, who like them, has no job and has left home. However, his father, is wealthy but only cares about his antique car. Boman decides to go against his father's wishes and steals the car and the four of them head towards Goa. Enroute the collide with another car, whose driver dies but not before informing them about some hidden money. Unknown to the four men, a certain Police Inspector Kabir Nayak has been chasing the dead man and Boman Contractor's father has found out that his beloved antique car has been stolen by his son.
The film is set two years after the original film, Sarkar. When Anita Rajan, CEO of an international firm, brings the Nagres a power plant proposal to set up in rural areas of Maharashtra, Subhash Nagre visits Thakerwadi (a rural area in that state) to seek permission for the plant from his mentor, Rao Saab. The Westernized and business-suited Shankar is quick to realize the plant's benefits, which will nonetheless required relocating 40,000 people in five villages. After convincing Sarkar, Shankar, along with Anita, visits the villages to mobilize support from the masses. However, things are not what they seem to be. From shady fixers with an eye on multi-million kickbacks to a political firebrands ready to incite the people against the controversial project, Shankar's dream gradually becomes a nightmare of infighting, betrayal, bribery and kidapping. Shankar also feels that he is now the Sarkar (a title essentially meaning "Overlord"), and that he has legitimately taken his father's place.
After the passing away of his wife, wealthy Delhi-based businessman, Harishchandra, took it upon himself to bring up two sons, Sunil and Prem. When they grew up he got Sunil married to Bhavna, and let Prem complete his education. When Bhagat told him that he had found a suitable match for Prem in Poonam, the niece of Krishnakant, a fruit merchant from Madhupur, Uttar Pradesh, the family traveled there, met with Krishnakant, his wife, Rama, and daughter, Rajni, and instantly approved of Poonam. Prem and Poonam also approved of each other, the Astrologer was consulted and a marriage was scheduled to take place in six months time. With the deadline for the marriage drawing close, both families start their respective preparations - not knowing that fate may have other plans in store for this young couple.

Priya Saxena is a law student, and would like to work for an accomplished lawyer. She responds to an advertisement by Barrister Ram Chotrani, but ends up in the wrong house - that of Raj Malhotra; falling in love with him and getting married. Raj is awaiting a promotion as Chief Executive Officer in his cell-phone manufacturing organization, and expects his wages to increase considerably, so he takes a loan, and purchases a spacious bungalow. During the Annual General Meeting of his organization, he does not get promoted, but instead is inducted as a Director, by the wife of the Chairman, Mrs. Sonia Roy. The reason behind his promotion is quite simple: Sonia wants to rekindle her affair with Raj - at any cost - by hook or crook - an affair that had left her pregnant in South Africa years ago.

He brings her to his home, and Pooja falls in love with Rohan but Rohan wants to make money and hence wants to marry a richer girl like Loveleen a spoiled rich girl, whom Rohan decides marry. When his friends oppose his decision, Rohan leaves their home, decides to live with Pooja - and a life full of uncertainties.
