New York Film Critics Series NYFCS Screening (May 2008). Critic Marshall Fine & Oscar Doc. winner Errol Morris (FOG OF WAR, THIN BLUE LINE) Discuss "S.O.P". ("STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE").
We're currently working on our Holiday campaign. Its called True Stories, and captures stories of our front line employees when they have been at their best with our customers. The stories all really happened. Errol Morris is directing the TV Spots (a renowned documentary film maker-Thin Blue Line and Fog Of War) These are the audition tapes that tell the basic story. Each of these employees then was interviewed by Errol for an hour. That hour will be cut down to 30 seconds for our final TV spots. We'll post the spots when they're done in a couple weeks.

Some of the genres most influential directors reflect upon its unique power in Capturing Reality: The Art of Documentary. Over 30 luminaries — including Albert Maysles, Errol Morris, Alanis Obomsawin, Michel Brault, Nick Broomfield, Kim Longinotto and that great iconoclast Werner Herzog — offer insight into their craft while reflecting on the nature of representation and the perennially contested status of the truth. Can film capture reality? What ethical issues arise when portraying real lives? How does editing or music condition our emotional response to film? More than 100 clips enliven the discussion, offering a panoramic overview of contemporary documentary cinema, from Grey Gardens and The Thin Blue Line to The Day I Will Never Forget and Darwins Nightmare. The clownfish is a type of fish that lives in salt water habitats. It is also called an Anemonefish. Clownfish are typically very bright, orange fish that have three white stripes, one at the head, middle and tail. If you look really closely, you may notice that there are thin black lines around the white stripes. Also, the tips of their fins have a thin black rounded stripe. Clownfish can grow to be from 2 to 5 inches long. The males tend to be significantly smaller than the females. However, there are various types of clownfish that range in colours from blue to yellow. Clownfish live in a "symbiotic" relationship with certain anemones. This means they benefit from living with the sea anemone, and the sea anemone benefits from the presence of the clownfish. They are the only fish that are able to live in sea anemones and not get stung by their tentacles. Clownfish are very active fish and are extremely aggressive. Because they are quite active, the clownfish are thought to be "clowning around". They defend their territory and the sea anemone that they live in. Clownfish eat the leftovers from fish on the anemone and algae. The leftovers include copepods, isopods and zooplankton. Clownfish have a few ocean predators, but their greatest threat is humans. People who catch clownfish and keep them as pets in aquariums are making a mistake. There are only ten out of more than one thousand types of anemone that are able to host these fish. Many pe
A beautiful poem by Laurence Neill. Used with permission. Known on youtube as "bigeeezy" http://www.youtube.com/user/bigeeezy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NORFOLK GULLS Gulls, yellow-shackled Ruffled and hackled, Long-tethered weather-vanes crabbing wind's wall. Off-balance, they hazily (Beaks scissor crazily) Screech - then defiantly plummet - to fall in the throat of a funnel that channels air-tunnels; a thin scream of arctic to steely-lunged boom. As NATO devotion transmogrifies ocean to sleet-spattered needles of shrapnel-sharp spume. Out over deep water the jet planes grow leaner then flatten to gun-metal silvery-blue. They skirt the sky fiords, where on the horizon, coast line hangs mirrored - suspended - in view. And Time slips the the longships of past generations the warrior sea farer, Norsemen and Dane, whose paths crossed the sea-ways like ours cross the sky-ways. .....When all are forgotten The gulls will remain. Lyrics Below Copyright2008© Ian Boon & Guini Productions "Working Class Blues" Ask me again another time and I might be able to tell you so but for now all I can say is that I just know because this is about as easy as it's gonna get... Stuck in a hole that you can not climb out working 9-5 & asking what's it all about doing what you need but all you do is get by watch the two little clock hands watch how they fly Going down the local for a few at the end of the day doing all this damn overtime is making you afraid doing what you need but all you ever is get by who was it anyway that made you this decide Maybe going on holiday once or twice a year never being promoted keeps you filled full of fear doing what you need but you only just get by watch the two little clock hands watch how they fly Standing at the front of the queue how long have you been there never crossed the thin line but now you're almost near doing what you need to do what you need to do to survive doing what you need to do but all you do is get by (for stereo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae7puPr8Vyo&fmt=18 )

Quickly, how do we position the herd members?!" ~Guardian~ "Guardian, we need to consider how to approach the group of stallions, what should we tell them?" ~Adonis~ "The other stallions are gathering the mares, do you think you can create a barrier of fallen trees by yourself? It's very dangerous. ~BlueStar~ "Winter is coming, and we're running out of food, foals are getting sick, what should we do!?" ~Angel~ "Night has come already, but we must reach our valley to find fresh food, do you think you can guide us there in the dark? What about the foals?" ~Ginger~ "Ginger! Where are the foals?! Did someone take them? Did the stallions gather them already? You were supposed to be watching them, what happpened!?!?" ~Flash~ "We need you, if you race off to find the foals, do you think you can return in time to fight? I'm spreading our defenses so thin as it is, if you don't make it back, we will lose this fight." ~Summer~ "There are two injured foals and one seriously hurt stallion, who do you want to heal first?" ~Australis~ "Brother, will you fight with me on the front-line, this battle willnot end well for either of us, but the herd needs you." ~Hurricane~ "I don't know what to do, i'm running out of options, we need fighters on the front-line, but if the lions get past us, there will be no one to protect the mares and foals. What do you want to do, fight of defend? ~Shadow~ "None of us has had much sleep in days, are you strong enough to stand guard tonight? However, if you fall asleep, the herd will lay defenseless." ~Jelwel~ "Do you think you can stalk up to the lion den and see if they're on the move?
