Software Engineer, Recommendations

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with a team of engineers and product management on Veoh’s recommendations systems.
• Implement systems and tools to optimize and tune recommendations results.
• Drive improvements in recommendations algorithms and performance.
• Work with Team Lead and other engineers on scheduling and task breakdowns.
• Be responsible for timely, high quality code deliveries

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years experience developing high-performance, database-driven websites or web applications.
• Professional experience with PHP or JSP required.
• SQL proficiency required.
• Familiarity with MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server required.
• Excellent communication skills and familiarity with engineering best practices.
• Must be comfortable in a dynamic environment and possess creative problem solving skills.
• We are looking for creative thinkers and problem solvers, not code monkeys.
