With references to 9/11 and the Iraq wars, the New York edition of “CSI” is notably darker than the Miami and Las Vegas dramas. Gary Sinise (“Forrest Gump”) is the obsessive leader. Stella Bonasera (Maria Kanakaredes) and Danny Messer (Carmine Giovinazzo) are part of the forensic team charged with investigating dealing with mysterious deaths and assaults.
