Whe it doesn't wor, she breaks off the marrige since she can't keep Ranmaru's intrest. But, when Ranmaru sees her crying, he realizes how much he hurt her. He confronts Tamao, but she refuses to take up the marrige again, thinking that Ranmaru doesn't really care.
