The main character is 10-year-old Poemi Watanabe (doesn't she look like Excel Kobayashi to you?), who dreams of being a voice actress. Of course, she has a bad voice and bad grades to boot. But when an alien decides to wreak havoc on Tokyo (taking out her parents in the process), she finds a talking fish...who she skins into a magic wand transforming her into Puni Puni Poemy. Lost yet? Don't worry. You've got plenty of time for that. By the way, don't be surprised if characters look familiar (especially our protagonist). Any resemblance to characters you may have seen in Excel Saga are strictly intentional.
Excel Saga would be freaking impossible to explain, because it just wouldn't do this anime justice. The general concept of the show revolves around Illpalazo and his organization of ACROSS, who wants nothing but to take over the world... starting with the city of J. ACROSS' forces are strong... okay, they're just composed of him, the dangerously hyperactive girl Excel, the kind (but sickly) Princess Hyatt (who dies countless times), and the hapless dog Menchi. Menchi serves as an unwilling emergency source of food for Excel. While ACROSS may be understaffed, they still forge on with their mission to take over J... in the most insane and chaotic way possible. During their quest for conquest, they encounter dangerously cute aliens, freeloading roommates, space butlers, dating simulations, guerilla forces, and even the creator himself, Koshi Rikdo! Will ACROSS complete their mission? And will Menchi avoid being "minced meat?" Watch Excel Saga at your own risk. You'll be the same... probably.

Meet Kintaro Oe, a 25 year old wandering student of life in the most literal sense of the word. You see, Kintaro had been studying for a law degree and had finally acquired all the needed credits to graduate when he suddenly dropped out and hit the road. He views life as the ultimate study topic and he wants to earn a master's degree in it, so, obviously, the best course to follow is to go out and live it to the fullest. Equipped with nothing more than his trusty bicycle, whatever belongings he can fit into his backpack, and his vitally important notebook (in which he notes just about everything he thinks, sees, or does), he sets off to learn all that life has to offer. The thing about life on the road, though, is that you still have to eat. This means stopping in one spot long enough to pick up an odd job or two. That's okay, though, because it's just another form of study and is to be expected when you live a wandering lifestyle. And who knows, maybe someday Kintaro will even save the world...
Inukami are demons with the apearence of a dog which protect the humans from other demons. However, Keita, a descendant of a historic Inukami-tamer family, lacked their gift, and so he was forsaken by the family. One day, an Inukami named Yoko came in to his life, and from then on, Keita's life would never be the same. Although Yoko was really beautiful, she was a problematic Inukami that no one had been able to control, and from that moment the endless train of Keita's embarrassments was without end.
Hatsuki Azuma, a Japanese highschool student, has a deep connection with her adopted sister Hatsumi. Hatsumi cannot speak but both of them have a strong bond. Finally, Hatsuki realizes that she's in love with Hatsumi but is too afraid of rejection to tell her so. What Hatsuki doesn't know is that Hatsumi is really Eve, an immortal being, and on her 16th birthday she mysteriously disappears. A little bird named Ken-chan comes looking for Eve but he's to late and finds Hatsuki instead. Ken-chan takes Hatsuki to the Great Library, a place beyond time or space, which has books containing every world/universe in existence. The keeper of this library is Eve's sister, Lilith, who is also looking for Eve. Because Hatsuki is willing to do anything to find Hatsumi, she agrees to go with Lilith and Ken-chan on a journey through the books to find her.

Loosely based on the novel 'Romance of the three kingdoms', modern day Japan sees a similar struggle for power between different rival schools with the three strongest being; Kyosho Academy led by Sousou Moutoku, Nanyo Academy by Sonsaku Hakufu and Ryuubi Gentoku from Seito High School. Together these three tousei, each with their own mangatama, fight for the honour of becoming ikki tousen and fulfilling their fated destiny through battle and conquest.
