Zoom into the Nanoscale at Epcotâs Nanotech Exhibit
A long-term exhibition at the Walt Disney World Resort® allows visitors to understand the tiny world of nanotechnology through hands-on experiments that use microscopes to reveal exciting images invisible to the naked eye. Housed at INNOVENTIONS at Epcot®, the exhibit Take a Nanooze Break features a series of interactive, continually updated displays that allow visitors to manipulate models of molecules, study everyday items at the nanoscale, and interact with scientists and engineers who conduct the latest nanotechnology research. In the interactive Zoom experience shown in our video, you can see deep inside a butterfly wing; when you zoom in and out, you can see the butterflyâs wing magnified more than one million times, showing its underlying structure at the nanoscale. Seventh Annual âAllstate Americaâs Best Drivers Reportâ¢â
The Allstate Insurance Company (NYSE: ALL) today released its seventh annual âAllstate Americaâs Best Drivers Reportâ¢.â The report ranks Americaâs 200 largest cities in terms of car collision frequency to identify which cities have the safest drivers, according to Allstate claim data.
Famous Off-Road Race Returns to the Desert Racing enthusiasts and rough riders of all ages are getting revved-up for the return of the world famous Mint 400 Off-Road Race. The rugged 400 mile race was started in 1978 as a promotion for the Mint Hotel in Las Vegas. Billed as the "Great American Desert Race," the brutal course quickly skyrocketed to fame as racers braved the rough roads of the Moapa Indian reservation and treacherous trails like the infamous Rock Garden. With the race back on track, more than 250 drivers are expected to participate. Fans can also get their fix at the annual Fan Fest, where car buffs can meet the racers, check out the hottest cars and pose for pictures with Miss 400, a title once held by Vanna White. As Earth Day Approaches, Las Vegas Adopts Initiatives for a More Eco-Friendly Community As part of an effort to create a greener community, Las Vegas is adopting innovative ways to make their hotels, restaurants and destinations more environmentally conscious. In fact, the city takes a lead in LEED rating with six gold ratings from the U.S. Green Building Council for MGM Mirage's City Center, the highest achievement to date. And combined, the Palazzo, Venetian and Sands Expo and Convention Center form the largest LEED-certified building in the world. Through their re-engineering efforts the Palazzo and Sands currently recycle 55 percent of their overall waste stream, approximately 10 thousand tons of recycled goods per year. Recycling, low-flow appliances, and energy efficient lighting are some of the standard practices many resorts are using to bring down their carbon footprint. Harrah's Entertainment is also pledging to find more sustainable solutions for how they do business with their comprehensive environmental program, CODE GREEN.
