Mountain Lake Journal Producer, Jared Stanley traveled to Chiquilistagua, Nicaragua with the North Country Mission of Hope. a regional humanitarian organization based in Plattsburgh, New York. North Country Mission of Hope’s original focus was to provide emergency assistance caused by the damage of hurricane “Mitch” but they soon realized that their relief efforts would surpass emergency needs.
