Frank Chu, the 12 Galaxies Guy states his case. The Summer of Love 40th Anniversary concert festival was about more than just the music. People were organizing for numerous causes, and one brave man carries a sign, and makes his bold protest against the slanders made on millions of galaxies. Intro music by Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, recorded at the concert.
Lester Chambers, former lead singer and front man of the group The Chambers Brothers, and his band perform "People Get Ready" and "Time Has Come Today" in one of the high points of the day. "Time..." reverberates with the line, "My soul's been psychedelisized," and this video adds a heavy dose of mind melting effects. As the high spirits gather, even Jimi Hendrix seems to appear in the concert crowd.
California State Assemblyman Mark Leno presents Boots Hughston coordinator of Summer of Love 40th Anniversary with a Proclamation recognizing the spiritual awakening in Golden Gate Park, and introduces one of the members of The Doors, Ray Manzarek who did a short set with poet Michael McClure, Rob Wasserman (bass) and Jay Lane (drums).
