Hello, my name is Sunny, and I have a problem. I'm way too dependent on anything digital, specifically computers and the internet. Does anyone else have the same problem, and if so, are you willing to admit your digital dependence? Visit http://www.sunnygault.com/crossroads to join the conversation!
This crossroad is ripped from the headlines... sort of, if you consider my Facebook wall posts to be "headlines". Many of you seem to have some strong opinions when it comes to online dating sites and the people who use them. I'm extremely interested in this topic because I'm working on a new project focusing on people who are trying to find love online. I'm a big fan, but I want to know what you think. Did you meet your sweetie online? Tell me your story. Visit http://www.sunnygault.com/crossroads to join the conversation!
Have you googled yourself lately? If you haven't, do it now. You might be surprised to find some "digital dirt" you never even knew existed! Digital dirt is the information about you- your photos, your videos, your rants and raves found on forums, blogs and other social networking sites. And if you're not careful, your dirt could be bad for business. For many people, your online presence is their first (and perhaps only) impression of you. If they don't like what they see, they'll probably take their business elsewhere. And if you're trying to please a recruiter, digital dirt could derail your job prospects before you're even called for an interview. Tell me about your digital dirt. Is it in need of some cleaning? " Hi. You've reached Crossroads. We're not here at the moment, but if you'd like to leave us a long-winded message detailing everything you need in life, please don't. It's annoying. Just be brief and we'll call you back as soon as we can. Bye!" Apparently, this is the message most people should include on their answering machines, or else people like me will spend the next 1-3 minutes being very precise about why they're calling and what prep work the person needs to do before calling them back. For me, this is more productive than leaving a brief message and forcing the person to call you back multiple times because they didn't have all the information they needed the first time. So, what do you think? Are long messages productive or a pain? Visit http://www.sunnygault.com/crossroads to join the conversation!
