Very early in the 2008 presidential campaign season, I decided to experience some of the presidential election hoop-la that takes place every four years in New Hampshire, which is not that far from where I live. Barack Obama made his first pre-presidential campaign appearance there on Dec. 10, 2006, in Manchester, where he was the big draw for a fundraiser ($25) that was billed as a celebration of the many Democratic Party successes in the 2006 election. He subsequently threw his hat into the ring.
