Claymore is an anime adaptation of a popular manga based on a fictional world with medieval technology. In this world, humans coexist with creatures called Yoma. The Yoma are sentient, shape-changing monsters that disguise themselves as and then feed on humans. By consuming a human brain, the Yoma can absorb the victim's memories, allowing them to infiltrate human circles without arousing the suspicions of their victim's close friends or family. In order to protect humans from the Yoma, a secret organization has created an order of superhuman warriors known as Claymores. Thusly named for the immense claymores they wield. Villages being attacked by Yoma hire Claymores to kill the Yoma for a large fee.
Allen Walker is a young Exorcist who has a cursed eye that can see the suffering of the Akumas created by The Millenium Earl. He travels to England to the Headquarters of the Exorcists where his Master has sent him to meet with the other Exorcists. The battle with the Millenium Earl and the Noah Family vs. the Exorcists intensifies when some of the best Exorcists begin to get killed by hoards of Akuma. Japan takes center stage in this end of 19th Century plot in order to not let the entire human race be turned into Akumas and the Exorcists have the power of "Innocence" that was given to them by God on their side.
Devil May Cry follows the adventures of the demon hunter Dante who himself is half demon and half human. Dante is hired through his own business named "Devil May Cry". The characters are based off of the popular capcom playstation 2 games.
In their closed-off underground village, Kamina and Simon chafe at the limits imposed by the village elder. Yet all this will change, when Simon stumbles across a fantastic device - just as the village's peace is broken by a violent intrusion.
