Oddball Bergman film taking place in Germany with an American lead.
Kaoru Amane, 18 years old, did not attend school but instead sang herself away every night after dark at a square in front of a train station with a guitar in her hands. She led a lifestyle opposite the norm, sleeping during the day and active at night. Kaoru was suffering from XP (xeroderma pigmentosum), an illness, which also might be described as the allergy to the sun, and was not allowed to be exposed to sunlight. The only motivation in her life was singing, which also was the only connection to the outside world. One day, an incident drastically changes her life...

Moscow does not Believe in Tears.
An Oscar winner for "best foreign film". This is a melodrama about the life stories of the three girls. Three friends, Antonina, Liudmila and Yekaterina, come to Moscow in search of their dream. Sharing a hostel room, they work and play together. Antonina soon marries a good man and settles down to raise a family. For Liudmila, Moscow is a sort of lottery, in which you have to pick the lucky ticket. She attempts to conquer the big city, but ends up a loser. The life of the third girl, Yekaterina, is a contemporary Cinderella story. She had her share of disappointments, but did not despair. In twenty years she built up a career and became the director of a big enterprise. A single parent of a daughter, she finally meets the right man and, after long and bitter years of loneliness, finds true happiness...

Hi! You're quite welcome for the Kiyoshi Kurosawa uploads. Hopefully I'll have some more. I used to have Bright Future and Charisma, but I deleted them (!!NO!!!) from my hard drive. I'm still looking for Tokyo Sonata and Serpent's Path. Hopefully, I can find another copy of Bright Future and Charisma. I'll put those up when I find them! I'm glad you're enjoying them!
