"But I Gave My Tears Away"Shinichirō Nakagami, a high school student, notes how he cannot bring himself to express his affection for Hiromi Yuasa, a fellow high school student who moved into Shinichirō's household after her father died. He notes that when he knew her before, he always treasured her smile, but she acts coldly at home, and Shinichirō regrets not being able to see her tears, or any form of significant emotion. At school, Shinichirō sees a girl named Noe Isurugi, and after criticizing her for interacting with chickens, is cursed by her. Shinichirō is quickly beset by bad luck for the rest of the day, accidentally seeing Hiromi undressing for the bath. To atone for what he said to Noe, he crafts a chicken out of a tissue box for her. The next day, he gives the box to her, but she is saddened because one of the chickens is killed. As Shinichirō notes that she did not cry, she tells him she has given her tears away.
"Takuma"Takuma Hirose, a blind junior-high school student, moves from the city to a rural area to live with his uncle. At school, he starts making friends on the first day, but soon discovers that the girl he sits next to in class, Hayami Kohinata, is subject to constant bullying by a few of her classmates. Takuma tries to protect Hayami in any way he can, but since he is blind he cannot do much for her, which she herself reminds him of. Otoha, a spirit only Takuma can see, gives him the temporary ability to see.
"A New Life + A Vampire"Tsukune Aono, a subpar student both academically and physically, is accepted into a mysterious high school. On his first day of school he meets a girl named Moka Akashiya, who reveals she is really a vampire. Tsukune quickly discovers that his new school is a school for monsters. No one knows Tsukune is human and he tries to figure a way to escape from the school. However, Tsukune's life becomes more complicated when he becomes involved in a fight with a delinquent student and accidently removes the cross on Moka's neck.
