A few weeks ago, RIF & Carl Buddig & Company launched the Be A Reader program at Jenner Academy in Chicago, IL with author/illustrator Jarrett Krosoczka. The books for this event were generously donated by Random House Childrenâs Books.
February 8, 2011--RIF partnered with NASA to celebrate African American History Month at Ferebee-Hope Community School in Washington, D.C. The event was broadcast live via RIF's website. The event included a NASA themed book distribution. Leland Melvin, NASA Associate Administrator for Education and former space shuttle astronaut shared his experiences in space and read aloud the book "The Moon Over Star" to the students. Later, Betsy Pugel, NASA Physicist shared several space materials with the students including a moon rock!
