- With the help of influential friends, Hawke had been able to get Minh out of Vietnam years ago. Now Minh is getting married to Mai, and her father is welcoming him to the family. It is a happy occasion, and Hawke, Dominic, and Caitlin are honored guests. Suddenly the peaceful atmosphere is shattered. Diem and his son Tommy have been killed in an explosion that destroyed their produce-laden truck. Everyone at the wedding suspects that it was no accident since they are all aware of the pressure put on them by Zung, a former Vietnamese warlord.
