The scratchy, rawness of Nature and the tenacity of Human is a feature of the history of Iceland. The apparent serenity of Iceland scenery is tempered by a sharp reminder of the adolescence of the land as it gradually evolves. It might seem a slow process to us, but Nature is urgently intent on the task.
