Hunger - Time Out Special Screening

London: 19 October 2008 Sunday. Still cold. Its day five of the BFI 52nd London Film Festival here in the Square. A film by Turner Prize winning artist turned director Steve McQueen got the crowd at the Odeon West End buzzing. This was the second premiere of the day and being later on a Sunday night, there were fewer of the usual crowd but plenty of folk from around the world. I met my Dutch friends tonight theyre over for the whole festival. Star Michael Fassbender worked the crowd as did Liam Cunningham. The other stars of this story about hunger striker Bobby Sands, his Maze prison guards and fellow inmates were in attendance too.
