san diego F18d-Hornet military jet crash.pilot ejected before crash.He was taken to Balboa Naval Hospital after ejecting and landing in a baseball field of the local University .the aircraft was 2 miles out on approach to Marine Corps Air Station MIRAMAR.Film location for 1986 film Top Gun.not yet known how many injuries to residents. crash site is near to Interstate Highway 805.2 persons have died on the ground and 2 houses have been destroyed.F18 was from the carrier USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN,and was trying to avoid the built up area and land in a deserted canyon.Mayor Jerry SANDERS of San Diego and Colonel Christopher O CONNOR the Commanding Officer of Miramar MCAS,have both publicly expressed their condolescences to the families of the deceased.crash occurred at 1159am on Monday 8th december 2008. The pilot that ejected is believd to be NEWBERGER,according to witnesses at scene who saw his name badge. The deceased are; Grace YOON,15 months/Young Mi YOON aged 36/Rachel YOON aged 2 months/grandmother Suk Im KIM aged 60 years.
