Springnet 591 - Austin Geographic Redistricting Bash at Sholz Garten

Springnet, Austni, TX Sat. Dec. 17, 2011, Scholz Garten - an afternoon of activism, great food, and friendship in support of a new redistricting plan for Austin, Texas City Council. Austin’s civic, political and neighborhood organizations have been meeting since March, 2011, to develop an agreed upon plan for geographic representation on the Austin City Council and a non-partisan redistricting plan. These groups and individuals, agreed on a simple 10-1 plan: ten single member districts with the mayor being elected at-large, combined with a non-partisan independent citizen’s redistricting commission, as the way to go.
